Does Jesus Still Heal Today in Modern Times?
Ask Mike S. from Florida…
Mike Salmon should have died on his way to work on January 29, 2010. Both the driver and passenger of the car that hit his truck head-on that morning did not make it. Mike was so badly broken, the doctors were pretty sure he wouldn’t either. His left arm, ankle, and both legs were shattered. Several broken ribs had punctured and deflated his lung, and…

The day had come for Mildred to move her boxes of tax files back into the garage. They were heavy but manageable with the cut-away handles, and she stacked them on the floor one by one. She would have to lift each one above her head to slide them into their spots on…
Ask Marylou M. from Stuart, FL…
Marylou was scheduled for foot surgery on August 8, 2018. She could feel the lump caused by Morton’s neuroma, a painful ball of nerves at the base of her toes, which she’d been struggling with for months. Her doctor also felt the lump and told her surgery was her…
Ask Teresita H. from North Palm Beach, FL…
In March of 2009, Teresita went to her doctor with digestive issues and was shocked to learn she needed an oncologist for what turned out to be ovarian cancer.
Ask Patty P. from Jupiter, FL…
In early December 2018, during the holiday rush and Christmas preparations, Patty woke up to pain in both heels. Thinking it might be plantar fasciitis, which she’d dealt with before, she asked the Lord to heal her and then ignored it. By early February, her normal walking gait had become a lurch, and the pain…
Jesus Still Heals Today!
Ask Mike S. from Florida…
Mike should have died on his way to work. Both the driver and passenger of the car that hit his truck head-on that morning did not make it. Mike was so badly broken, the doctors were pretty sure he wouldn’t either. His left arm, his ankle and both legs were shattered. Several broken ribs had punctured and deflated his lung, and he had bleeding on the brain. The prognosis was bleak. Only a miracle could save his life.
As soon as Pastor Damon heard about the accident, he mobilized New Life to pray for him. For three months, Mike slept in a medically induced coma. He awoke to the realization that life would never be the same. Why would God let this happen to him? He was minding his own business, driving to work like he did countless times before, and in an instant, his life, like his bones, was shattered.
Between Pastor’s visits and Mike’s brother Joe’s encouragement, Mike decided to trust God and began to work toward getting his life back.
“There wasn’t a thing I could do about it,” he said, “and complaining wouldn’t change anything; so I changed my attitude. I’m no quitter.”
Through years of therapy, life-threatening infections, and a near amputation, Mike fought, prayed, and trusted God to carry him through.
When he could drive again, Mike went to visit his sister Pam, where he renewed his friendship with her best friend Ada. Widowed in 2007, Ada trained as a home health care provider, not knowing that God was preparing her for her future husband.
Mike and Ada married in February 2015. With the Lord’s help, Mike has made great strides in his recovery. Ada watches out for him, but he doesn’t need much help anymore. In fact, they love getting in their car and driving anywhere, anytime they like. God has taken what was meant for evil, what should have killed Mike Salmon, and turned it to good for both Mike and Ada.

The day had come for Mildred to move her boxes of tax files back into the garage. They were heavy, but manageable with the cut-away handles, and she stacked them on the floor one-by-one. She would have to lift each one above her head to slide them into their spots on the shelf, but she’d done it many times before and knew it would take no more than a little effort. As she pulled up the first box and shifted her body to raise it to the shelf, agony ripped through both shoulders, causing her to cry out in pain as she dropped the box full of files and papers. She immediately knew this was more than a muscle strain or spasm. She felt something rip.
During the next two months, she went to several doctors for tests which included an MRI that showed she had a greater than 50% tear in both rotator cuffs. The right was worse than the left. Her doctor scheduled surgery, assuring her there was no way they would repair themselves with time and physical therapy.
Between receiving the diagnosis and going in for the surgery, Mildred went to New Life Church, knowing that the Pastor and her church would pray for her to be healed. She had seen Jesus heal many others miraculously. Would He do the same for her?
Immediately after Mildred was prayed for, the pain was gone. She raised her arms and moved them in ways she could not have moved before. God answered prayer for her with a miracle.
It’s been months since the incident that tore both rotator cuffs so badly that the doctors felt surgery was her only way to recovery. Mildred has not had the surgery and still has full range of pain-free motion in both arms after Jesus healed her.
Ask Marylou from Stuart, Florida…
MaryLou was scheduled for foot surgery. She could feel the lump caused by Morton’s Neuroma Nerve, a painful ball of nerves at the base of her toes which she’d been struggling with for months. Her doctor also felt the lump and told her surgery was her.
MaryLou was scheduled for foot surgery. She could feel the lump caused by Morton’s Neuroma Nerve, a painful ball of nerves at the base of her toes which she’d been struggling with for months. Her doctor also felt the lump and told her surgery was her only option for relief. Two weeks before the surgery, Pastor Damon led New Life Church in prayer for her.
On Sunday, August 5, Pastor Marvin called her up for prayer again. As the congregation and elders prayed, he specifically asked the Lord to heal her in such a way that when she went for the surgery, the doctors would find nothing wrong with her foot. After prayer, Mary Lou couldn’t feel the lump, and the pain was gone.
On the next Wednesday, when she went for her scheduled surgery, she said, “I don’t know how you feel about prayer,” and told her doctor what had happened. He felt her foot, could not find the lump, ran more tests, and canceled the surgery.
That same week, she was called into the Cardiologist’s office. Something was wrong with her EKG and they wanted to run more tests. Mary Lou said to the nurse, “I don’t know how you feel about prayer,” and relayed to her the story of the canceled surgery. With tears in her eyes, the nurse ran another EKG. It was radically different from the first, which caused the doctor to think he had been sent the wrong EKG to begin with. This new one showed that there is absolutely nothing wrong with Mary Lou’s heart.
Mary Lou experienced two healing miracles that week, both backed up by medical tests. Do you need healing? How do you feel about prayer?
Ask Teresita from North Palm Beach, Florida…
Teresita went to her doctor with digestive issues and was shocked to learn she needed an oncologist for what turned out to be ovarian cancer.
Teresita went to her doctor with digestive issues and was shocked to learn she needed an oncologist for what turned out to be ovarian cancer.
After she returned from the doctor and sat by her computer, a scripture kept running through her mind, “Bless the Lord, oh my soul and all that is within me. Bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, oh my soul and forget not all His benefits; who forgives all my iniquities and heals all my diseases.”
When she shares her story, her excitement is evident. “I knew the Lord was going to heal me! I never had an experience like that, having a scripture run through my mind like that.” Her conviction only deepened at New Life Church, where the Pastor and his wife, as well as the congregation, prayed for her.
Teresita had surgery in April that year and immediately afterward started chemotherapy. After three sessions of chemo, she went back for an exploratory laparotomy, where the surgeon removed the ovaries and surrounding tissue. Her surgeon told her the resulting biopsy showed no evidence of cancer, and Teresita decided she would stop taking chemotherapy.
When Teresita’s oncologist found out she had canceled the remaining chemo treatments, the doctor tried to convince Teresita that the chemo was necessary. The doctor warned Teresita that if she didn’t continue the chemotherapy, she would be dead in two to five years. Teresita thanked her doctor for calling and doing what she felt compelled to do as a physician but stood her ground. After the call, she sent her doctor a letter with all the Scriptures she was believing the Lord for, including the one she repeatedly declared aloud to encourage herself by letting it soak into her spirit: ‘I have been healed by the stripes of Jesus.’
Throughout her treatments and after she refused more chemo, her Pastors and church family continued to love, support, and pray for her complete healing. Teresita was tested every six months to see where her cancer marker stood. After two years, Teresita’s doctor called her “my miracle patient.”
Four years ago, Teresita received a printout of her full medical report. She was stunned to discover that the first operation did not remove all the cancer, which is why the doctor insisted she would die without the chemo treatments. She believes the Lord kept her from finding out this information because she had complete faith in her healing.
Today, nine years after the diagnosis, Teresita is still cancer-free. Jesus healed her and has kept her healed!
Ask Patty from Jupiter, Florida…
During the holiday rush and Christmas preparations, Patty woke up to pain in both heels. Thinking it might be plantar fasciitis, which she’d dealt with before, she asked the Lord to heal her, and then ignored it. By early February, her normal walking gait had become a lurch, and the pain drove her to the foot doctor. The doctor discovered a partial tear in the left Achilles tendon and severe tendonitis in the right one. The doctor ordered physical therapy which resulted in limited improvement. Then in early May, the right tendon totally ruptured.
Patty was surprised at the nearly immediate pain relief, so, thanking God for her healing, she waited until her next doctor appointment to tell him about it. Unimpressed with her pain relief, the doctor insisted Patty wear a walking boot on the right foot, which meant she couldn’t drive. Then Patty re-injured the left tendon, which again brought pain relief. Thanking the Lord again for healing, Patty stopped wearing the boot altogether until she saw the doctor again. At that visit, he announced Patty needed surgery to repair the torn tendons.
Patty insisted on a second opinion, which took three weeks to get. The orthopedic surgeon agreed on the need for surgery but insisted on clearance from a cardiologist. Patty did not have a cardiologist and another month passed before a cardiologist could see her as a new patient. The cardiologist ran some tests, which took another two weeks, and finally cleared her for surgery.
When Patty returned to the first doctor, so much time had passed he took surgery off the table. The doctor wanted to immobilize both legs with non-weight-bearing casts for six weeks, followed by three months of intensive physical therapy and leg braces. The doctor was ready to apply the cast to at least one leg right then. Unprepared for that, Patty refused.
The doctor ordered another MRI of the left foot and Patty set out to get a wheelchair and figure out what kind of help she could get for six weeks; however, nothing appeared to be working out. Patty continued to thank the Lord every day for her healing. Meanwhile, her pastors and church family were praying for her. Patty was grateful she was able to walk without lurching. One morning she felt a nudging to get up on her toes, which is impossible to do with ruptured Achilles tendons, but she was able to do it.
On the morning of the next appointment, the CASTING appointment, Patty asked the Lord to make His will clear to her by having the doctor cancel his plan of action and prescribe some physical therapy to rebuild strength in both legs. The first thing the doctor did was go over the MRI, where he didn’t see the rupture at all. Patty demonstrated how she could lift up on her toes. When the doctor saw that, he said she could put the boot in a closet and she would not need casts or braces. The doctor prescribed a month of physical therapy. Patty took the opportunity to tell him and everyone in the office that God had healed her. When she went home, she shouted it to the neighborhood and posted it all over social media. God healed her ruptured Achilles tendon! God still heals!
